What is Jogercise?

Jogging and walking the streets and parks gets more interesting when you consider the park benches, kids play areas, hills, steps, handrails or even lamp posts you pass along the way, are actually free gym equipment! All you need to do is learn how to use them and your jog or walk suddenly turns in to an awesome workout on the go.

Here’s a quick example of one of my own personal jogercise sessions…

I leave the house and walk the first 2 minutes doing my moving warm up and stretch. Then I break out in to a jog which takes me to the my nearest park in about 10 minutes. 

The first park bench I come to I do 20-30 push ups on the bench. Then it’s a paced run to the swings for 20-30 pull ups. I do that little circuit section 2-3 times before moving on.

Jogging out of the park and down the street to a flight of steps that lead to a building, I run/walk up and down them 10 times and then jog the 10 minutes back home. When I get home I do 50 sit ups in the lounge and stretch to finish. Glass of water and shower - done.

This session takes me about 40 minutes to complete, has given me a good all over workout with plenty of fresh air and has cost me absolutely diddly squat!! (No diddly squat is not a new exercise!) 

I have about 4 or 5 different routes (some longer, some shorter) with different exercises along the way which I can choose from depending on who I’m with, how I feel and how much time I have.

In essence, that is jogercise! 

It's fresh air fitness at it's best.
